Who wins SL5: place your bets...
I am always interested to talk about who is and was the strongest team at some point in time. So now i want to know what you guys think of the recent power shifts, including:
*Mutiny by shmo stealing {ball}ers and adding some soon to be altitude HoFfers to the squad. *as a response {ball} getting their players from talent pool AH and mled *Pata decapitating AIR and joining arr who will soon rename themselves as "top5control' *Captains of tvo didnt pay attention for a moment while mled sneaks out and they remaining with a team of either inactive or inexperienced players. * Dead of FC, talented players are distributed over the remaining teams. * BBQ still going strong (only lost members due to inactivity and added some new veterans) So who win Sky League 5 My bet is on: 1. arr 2. ball 3. BBQ

I think {arr} has the strongest team on paper (well ladder rankings), 5 or 6 {arr} in the top 12?
This SL should be very interesting given how shmo and ball'n are now in different teams. Tomi vs Pata (if he plays Randa) will also be epic. I also hope tmic will be back in his stellar form and tv0 have a strong lineup in time. All in all, this SL makes for some great pew-pews! Last edited by Tekn0; 11-18-2011 at 02:47 PM.

IMO this SL is a war of the whales.
It depends whether you think Pata/Dim/Goose are better than Void/Kuja. IMHO {arr} have the best chance of winning this, then BBQ, then {ball}, then t3c Last edited by Ribilla; 11-18-2011 at 04:22 PM.

My thoughts are similar to beef's:
[BBQ] and {arr} are the most likely to win in my opinion, these two teams have killer squads. The teams that used to be the best, {ball} and ///tVo seem to be weaker this season, but with their experience and a little luck, they can still stay on the top or top-mid. There are t3c and BomberCake, which - at least judging from past experience - won't be able to come to the top 3 mostly because of organizing issues and lack of experience as a team (that was the case with All Stars, (T.T) and |2] as well). So I predict these two teams in the middle along with AH and AIR. The death of FC, WoF and 8-ball will probably produce a tighter competition in the middle. The rest will finish at the lower end of the table, probably in the order: LF > F16 > TC. If I had to bet, I'd say {arr}.

People are giving arr way too much credit imo. They've really not done anything to look that scary and they had a terrible outing (when compared with expectation) last season. They still have basically the same roster as last season with maybe one new addition. Not trying to insult arr or anything just my 2 cents. I'm feeling confident about a BBQ title retention.

I think, everyone missing {ball academy} AH, who hit 3rd place last season. They lost some players, but main players still there.
As for Holly, BBQ definitely have strong teamplay, but this is BBQ teamplay, not just fLb. With all respect to best TBD team its not only Void and Kuja. Every member of BBQ add his own part to BBQ victory.

I believe that BBQ have the best squad right now, and they are the team to beat for the upcoming competition. I must have missed the pata switched to {arr}, if its true that could be exactly what they need to put them in contention for the title. {ball} has lost a few players recently, but they have signed up some great players to replace them so I expect they will still be in the mix. (I'm also intrigued to see what impact holly has as captain too!)
Between the rest, its very difficult to call. AH, tVo and AIR have gone through some changes recently, and the new teams t3c and BomberCakez both seem to have some potential. So to sum it up, my money is on BBQ.

A team with a decent defense + great passing can win. IMO {arr} is pretty hot. {ball} pretty much took in 4-5 tvo players, so ball has never looked stronger!
All in all, teams don't stand a chance. BZ has been training for months in the dark skies of locomotion in harsh thermo-acidic weather. In this process, our passes have gained the velocity of Aaron Rodgers with accuracy more vivid than a free handed circle. Spending the cold days of APL together, we huddled in the ball dojo, spending months upon seconds meditating in spec chat. Through this process our thoughts have become one and our spawn times.. Zero! We also played many songs over mumble.. With this we were able to finally perfect the flying v and the cat daddy! Idk who will win, many factors that depend on. Primary who is calling the lineups. And also who shows up. All good rosters.. Talent spread every corner of altitude, should be a good season as I expect to see one :-)

From what I've seen, {arr} looks good on paper but not as good on the field -- perhaps this is due to having so many members that they don't get a chance to know each other's play styles as well as other teams? My money's on BBQ.
