Can't see my own server but others can
I've likely got something messed up but I sure cant figure it out. Perhaps someone could help.
I've been having many issues getting a server set up but have slowly worked through most of them and had just gotten everything more or less working when... I can no longer see my server in the server list. The problem is that everyone else can. I can't join it because it's not there for me, but others can and have joined it. Anyone have any idea as to why this would be? Thanks.. |

If you're running it behind the same router that serves your internet connection, this is normal. Port-forwarding only affects EXTERNAL access and doesn't work internally (so if you try to "use" the same address that external people use, it won't do anything because the packets aren't "forwarded").
But fear not - you should be able to find the same server as just an ordinary LAN server at your INTERNAL LAN IP address (not whatever address you've advertised externally to everyone else). At least, that's how it usually works with games. |
