Map admin

Okay, so I don't see ANYTHING going on with the ladder maps.... at all. Is anyone in charge of that anymore? I really think there should be a dedicated map admin that will really put effort into looking into maps in the map thread, commenting, putting in suggestions, testing. I've heard many people say that they are sick of the ladder maps right now, and I know that there are many maps that are just sitting there, not getting attention.

I think this needs to change, thoughts?

i'm in charge of maps again.

i took a look at aki's maps (hex?) and tossed some obvious criticisms i saw off the top of my head, but as with any maps opinions are useless without testing. i spent way too much effort in earlier seasons trying to get people to test maps to no avail, and have no interest in doing it anymore. if you want people to test your map, get people to test your maps. it's not my responsibility as a ladder admin.

also people being tired of current ladder maps is completely irrelevant as long as there aren't better maps out there, which we don't know because they're never tested.

You could have nobo and co add some code to force one out of every x games to be played custom_test_???

Yea this...I "think" crystallized looks like a good map, but NONE OF YOU can be bothered to game-test the maps, so...

Good news, I managed to get in touch with Krawz today and he said he would be putting swarm2 and crystallized on dojo in the next day or so. So stop in and "game-test" (whatever that is) the maps when you get a chance and leave some feedback.

crystallized and swarm(i think it was) both played p well imo and should be considereed

I agree, these two seem to have potential after messing around with them last night. I've yet to try them with a full 6v6 though.

Crystallized and swarm2 have been added to the arr servers so EU players can now test it too.

Prob is that ppl rarely play on the arr servers.

After the Loco 2 scandal? Jeebus, a president gets impeached for getting a hummer in office but we let the guy who put Loco 2 in the map pool get off with nothing more than a slap on the wrist.
