Display settings reset on Linux

Hey, I'm a linux user and I have an issue I would like to discuss

The problem I am having is that, when I run on two monitors, play altitude in windowed mode, and eventually exit the game, my display settings will reset. This means that one of my monitors will go blank and all my windows will move to the active one, and I have to spend a couple of minutes resetting my displays. It's a pain in the arse.

The only solution I have found so far is to forcefully kill the game instead of exiting normally.

This happens in Gnome and in Xfce, and I'm pretty sure it's something the game does, and something that could be improved upon. Has anyone else had this problem?
