Steam's current sale/activity involves coal and free games which both can be exchanged between friends. From a marketing point of view, its awesome for that they are getting players used to messing with steam inventory and gifting, which often involve money.

The point of this thread is for us to exchange any presents we don't want for things we may be more interested in. Please state what you have for trade, and link the store page of that item. If you have coal for trade, I know there are those interested in that.

Note that there are coupons for % off of a game's cost. These are welcome to be listed for trade as well, just note what the % is.

There are certain achievements that can be viewed through the sale that must be completed by playing games through steam. After completing these achievements you receive one of three things: a piece of coal (can be used to make one of the two other items or used as an entry for the grand prize award (every steam game)), a coupon for various games to be used after the sale on steam is over, or a random game.

I should note that some of the ways to collect things are simple, like joining a community group, viewing your steam inventory, and you get one for just signing up to participate in the contest.

Also, since the achievements are released on a per day basis through Jan 1. You can view all achievements to be completed during the sale at http://steamcheeves.com/

You get items only for those achievements, which were shown in past days. To check, what achievements you can do to get present, check http://steamtreasurehunt.wikia.com/w...ves#Objectives or official steam store page.

List of all Christmas achievements - list of achievements, which were added in past couple months, which makes them possible a-ment for Gift Pile.
List of Steam a-ments - probably gathered from Valve posts of forums and tweets. Rule is same. You those ones, which already present in list works. Currently its only "Join group" and "Make trade". And first one - check your inventory.
