Default Help with Port Forwarding Please

Hey guys,

So here is my dilemma. First off, I have a westell A90-750045-07 as my router. I don't know if that will help or not. I have turned my firewall completely off on both my laptop and my desktop for the time being. On my old laptop, I have created a rule that forwards both tcp and udp ports starting with a base port of 27275, ending with port 27285. host port is 27275. It worked, I played with my girlfriend (I hope it goes without saying she was not on my lan ). My laptop didn't even have a static ip at the time.

So when I got my new desktop I didn't bother making a static ip for it. Made the same rule as seen above, only attributed it to my desktops ip. It didn't work. I get that warning from the server launcher about me being behind a firewall. I changed my desktop ip address to a static one, still nothing.

Now here's the kicker, I went back to my laptop, tried making a rule to forward the ports necessary for Terraria (just 7777). She can't join that. Even though the rule for altitude is still working. I am completely stuck. Any insight would be appreciated.

(I have also tried making them tcp protocols, the "both" protocols option, and just creating two rules, one for udp, one for tcp)

do you know if your router has uPnP? (universal plug and play). If so try turning that on, it's a lot easier than trying to set up port forwarding rules.

Also do you know if you have the latest firmware installed?

Yeah, I've enabled my uPnP, when the server launcher starts theres the line "configuring uPnP" followed by the line "no uPnP gateway found" and I just checked and it seems like the firmware is an older version. I'll try updating that and get back to you.
