Default ball_surreal

ball_surreal
by moog

This is actually a revision to my first map attempt, ball_punk. I believe I was able to address all the concerns people had with that one, and here is the result. However, after all the adjustments, I felt the old name did not fit anymore, so I changed it to ball_surreal.

Revision 7

The graphics are preliminary, as I'm mainly focused on getting the layout down at this point. But I plan to stick with a grayscale color scheme and add some cool parallax backgrounds and perhaps an unintrusive fog effect.

What do you guys think?

Available on the Official Test Map server. You can download it from altitudegame.com/map.

Map doesn't look as the one on the test server, so I'm guessing the one the server is the old version?

You might wanna update it.

Besides that, map looks neat. Kinda big tho, can't wait to try it out

just my 5 cents. There are at least 4 little obstacles near goal, which means whale have to cover each and every of those 5 holes. There more for sure, i just take point blank shots. On my opinion, its just too much for defense. Any randa can warp from rock to rock always stay covered since some of them vertical and other horizontal.
Check out current popular maps. Planepark, cave, grotto. They all have 3 or even 4 ways to goal, but obstacles big enough, so ball carrier have to decide sometime, which way to pick.
So my suggestion is make one huge obstacle from each pair.

Thanks for the feedback, trendy11one. That's a good idea! Do you think if I just removed the smaller spiky balls, that would fix it? Or perhaps the spiky balls and the small circles. Then the center would be open and whales could defend it easily. I kinda like the obstacles on the top and bottom so I don't really want to get rid of those.

Main post updated!

I've uploaded the latest version (7) of the map. Hopefully, I've been able to accommodate everyone's feedback where appropriate.
