Anyone up for a game of old school Alt?

All this discussion recently has made me want to give myself kind of a reality check and see how the game ACTUALLY used to feel. I keep pushing for the return of all this old crap, but it'd be interesting to see how I'd actually feel about it now. Anyone want to join me? Or at least does anyone know where I can get a copy of the old version so I can just fly around and ****?

I did start a patch for the older one its probably about 50% done, when i get more free time I will continue working on it!

How do you get Altitude to skip the update checking again?

you have to change your biplanes.cfg in your altitude folder

try this one
replace what's in your biplanes.cfg with:

#Sun May 04 23:35:35 CDT 2008

it doesnt work properly with java 1.5 (dunno about 1.6) but it works fine with 1.4

and btw: pathRemote=http\://altitude.al.funpic.de/res/ <- i can not guarantee that it will be available, the account on funpic.de might get deleted any time

Oh man the memories. So many great maps. I hope we can get some of them back up. I loved that one city map a lot.

Great idea. I don't think I have it on my hard drive though. I deleted a ton of maps back when Altitude first went away.

I don't remember mind****, but I remember much frustration and fun when playing feudalism.

Also cokane. Now that we have this parallax stuff, I bet we could make the tears actually fall down his face.
