To start off: windows users with no interest in using a mac EVER, close your thread here. Curious anyway? Read.
Basically what playonmac is, it's a program which can run a small group of windows programs the same way crossover games or wineskin does, but (in my opinion) is easier to cinfigure etc. If you are looking for a way to play games like assasins creed, payday the heist, the new world or maybe skyrim on your mac, ditch bootcamp and download this. It works great, works with a small group of programs at the moment, but is expanding. It has been tested with torchlight II, Skyrim and other games which you can find here. You can find out more about it and download it on the website: www.playonmac.com |

Looks like playonmac is a front-end for Wine but more Mac-friendly (easier configuration and more geared towards steam/games etc.)
In a few years time when GPUs can be fully virtualized (nVidia have already initiated this) we can get rid of all these hacks and run full virtualized environments at near native speeds. It will happen. Last edited by Tekn0; 05-28-2012 at 05:07 PM. |
