SkyLeague 6 Playoffs June 24th 6pm GMT


Rounds to be played the week of June 24th: Winners bracket first and second round and losers bracket first round
Map Pool:
Winners Rounds:
Round 1: asteroids, cave, core, hardcourt, lostcity
Round 2: planepark, grotto, ice, darkwar, maze

Losers Bracket:
Round 1: snow, grotto, ice, funnelpark, labyrinth

Rounds to be played the week of July 8th: Winners bracket semis round and rest of losers bracket
Map Pool:
Winners Rounds:
Semis: darkwar, planepark, labyrinth, snow, funnelpark

Losers Bracket:
Round 2: core, planepark, hardcourt, maze, cave
semis: ice, labyrinth, grotto, asteroids,funnelpark
finals: lostcity, cave, grotto, planepark, snow


Rounds to be played the week of July 15th: Championship round
Map Pool: Veto: Top seed vetoes 2, bottom seed vetoes 3, top seed picks.
Championship: cross, core, ice, snow, asteroids, planepark, cave
If necessary final round: labyrinth, lostcity, hardcourt, darkwar, grotto, cave, funnelpark

Rounds are bo5 with the higher seed having rights to choose starting server. The first 3 games will be played in top seeds choice then other team may choose another server for last two. High seeds start vetoing one map, lower seed vetoes two maps and top seed then picks from remaining two. The loser then picks the next map henceforth.

FYI next Sunday is Fathers Day. Mother's Day brought a bit of a low turnout for SL, so I figured there might want to be a discussion on whether or not to postpone the playoffs a week.

I don't understand why that happens at all. Those days are just like any other day to me...

I wake up, say "Happy mother's/father's day" and resume my normal life for the other 23 hours 59 minutes and 55 seconds of the day. And if I didn't live with my parents, I probably wouldn't even remember it.


Edit: I don't mean to be insensitive to people whose parents are separated/divorced, but it surprises me, given the average age of alti players, that these days have such an impact in the attendance

na man half of the community have to spend their entire day with their parents those days. totally not just a reason to be lazy or anything and just not show up.

I was not intending to discuss whether Hallmark Holidays are pants-on-head retarded or not. The fact remains that many Americans end up making these days a reason to spend time together, which usually results in a dip in attendance.

Most european countries do not celebrate father's day this Sunday. And we all know the majority of the ball community, or at least a good portion of it, is european.

I'm also sure there are people in the US and UK, where it will be father's day, that are like me and don't give a **** about it.

Is it REALLY necessary to wait another week, then have 3 weeks of playoffs and only end in mid-July?

Well, almost half the teams in the playoffs are based on American players, so we're kinda equal on thoughts here.

woooo 37 players from the Netherlands, we definately have the highest ratio people playing altitude/population.

Anyway, the 17th is fathersday in Holland too. I do not think that in europe it makes a difference as the matches are in the evening, so most of us have visited our father by then.

btw i do think the amount of european players is about equal in the playoffs. Arr, AIR, Vlix and BBQ are predominately EURO, where FAT, ball, SBHDFS and t3c are predominately US based teams.

Nice detail: first round is US vs EUROPE in every match.

It's funny because everyone ignored what I wrote and double posted it.

Anyways, I'm pretty sure every US team will pospone either being because they themselves can't make it this sunday or to the lack of players showing up.

So your saying give every euro team an advantage in the first round since US attendance will slip and euros won't? Lol

I'll play if most of my team can attend though, but at this point that is not given.

I don care man, just do what's best. Be careful though, since i feel like there is always a reason to postpone matches/leagues. It is best to do this asap, with holidays coming lol.

I can only talk for bbq when I say that fathers day will probably not be a big problem for our attendance. If other team captains have a feeling it is going to be a problem pls ask your team members and report here asap.

Captains please pm me with an answer to your team's availability for this sunday over the next 24 hrs. If we have 2 or 3 captains who say they cant make it then we will skip a week. I would like to let everyone know ASAP, so please let me know.

And you do not need to be roundabout like we could possibly make it if necessary. Just give me a defined yes or no. Thanks
