![]() DM Clocktower Version 1.2 - aug. 15 The map has been completely revamped. It is now much smaller and the graphics are much better. It won't lag and should load very quickly on most computers. I NEED FEEDBACK! so please take the time to leave a comment. If someone has a good idea for layout i'm open to rearranging things or adding a new element. Please also give some more opinions on the powerup locations and timing. The top two can spawn as health so i thought that with the bottom one which spawns pretty quickly it would be sufficient not to limit everybody to repair. I don't think there are two many non health powerups because the ones in the bottom right and left corners are set to a much longer spawn time so they won't come into play unless the game goes pretty long which will help against lengthy chases. Anybody running a deathmatch server please upload this map. Thanks. http://www.mediafire.com/?mnmtonjmz0v Last edited by pig_bomb; 08-15-2009 at 04:29 PM. |

I like the concept.
Without having played it, I worry that the background may be too dark/busy and that it may cause some confusion as to what's collidable and what isn't. However, it could be perfectly fine; tough to comment on this having not tested it. I think 5 powerups/1 health is too much. I'm of the opinion that a dm map needs 2-3 health packs just so players aren't forced into repair drone usage. Yeah, you see a lot of skirmishes followed by running, healing, and skirmishing again, but that makes for some fairly epic duels. I think maybe the top 3 spawns as powerups and the lower 3 as healths would be an interesting setup. Players that want to heal are forced into less advantageous ground and to make the decision between powerup superiority and getting a health pack. Anyway, I really like the looks of this. EDIT: Okay, I ran this in test mode a few times. The background seemed fine. I see what you mean about the compression, most stuff looked alright but it seemed particularly hard on the bell. I really like the layout/size of this map. I think it could stand to have some outlining done around the gears and whatnot. While you can tell what's collidable and what isn't, dark borders tend to make this easier at a glance and seem to be used in most other maps. Last edited by Snowsickle; 08-02-2009 at 04:07 PM. |

Very good concept with great artwork. Unfortunately, it has a consistent flow and composition that isn't captured by the limited camera view of the Altitude engine.

Also, I kept wanting to fly in-between the top two gears and the central gear, but that just has to do with learning the map I think. I think the power-ups placement works too. The gears are closed in enough that players who go for power-ups are putting themselves at risk. There's not a ton of maneuvering room (in the gears). EDIT: ...and the clock is stuck at 6:21... that's a recurring number in my life... any significance? Last edited by Blind Pilot; 08-02-2009 at 04:59 PM. |

Wow, this looks good! I am really happy to see a map made for Deathmatch. I will add it to New England Deathmatch -- everyone go there and check it out!
I can't wait to see more. Edit: It's up on NE Deathmatch now! come play with me! Edit 2: Lovely graphics, but people are having trouble downloading and loading, so unfortunately they do need to be compressed more. In server logs we can see the poor struggling people trying to join and failing. Gameplay is fun though, it has character. Last edited by Vi*; 08-13-2009 at 04:50 AM. Reason: update |

Updated version is now available on New England Deathmatch.
Check it out! The outlines make it much easier to see what's what, very nice. Hopefully we can get some people on it later to test it out, and we'll see if people have less trouble joining. |
