Default Your Explodet Mines Should Look Different

Mines you lay should look different on your screen, so you can easily differentiate between stuff than can potentially hurt you and harmless teammate mines.

On the other hand, if there are enough explodets in your team to confuse you, something's probably wrong with your team.

Mines are the color of the team that planted them. If it is red vs. blue and you are on the red team all your mines and your team mates' mines will be red while the enemies' mines will be blue.

yeah, but it'd be nice if I could identify my mines separately from my allies' mines since mine hurt me and theirs don't.

Perhaps they should blink faster with a white light...

... or you should remember where you plant your mines, dummy.

yah I agree it's a nuisance. Even more special when there's another player with remote mine who mines the same chokepoint as mine, and that's not even about that mine hurt, but about when to detonate mine.

just give them a little glow or something, just to make them different enough to tell

another thing that would be cool for explodet is that if you have a remote mine out something shows you, similar to the energy going light blue when you have a rocket out.

The best way to mark one's own Explodet mines would be to use something like the plane identifier when spawning. I.e., have a small version of that golden circle spinning on each mine. Keep it consistent.

That might be a bit too distracting.

I'd choose to gray out friendly mines - for all players. They're not as important as enemy mines, and this solution will also address the difficulties presented when ANY player flies into territory that is mined by both sides.

I think the current situation is definitely better than that. There are some enemy colors that could closely resemble gray; azure for instance. If this were done, I'd never fly anywhere in asteroids for fear of getting mined. :P

If it's distracting make it very dim or something. The point is that we have an in-game graphic that everyone knows to mean "mine" and we should play off that.

not a huge deal, but be nice if this went with explodet missiles too.
