tbd Norfair Depths ![]() (better resolution http://i.imgur.com/C70kO.jpg) My first map that I started a long time ago but never really took the time to complete. The map is not completely symmetrical but I have tried to make both sides have similar paths, I did this to improve the look of the map. Hopefully neither side should have any obvious advantage. The map is still a work in progress so constructive criticism and suggestions would be appreciated. Stripping out the sprites and resizing them was a complete nightmare..... I'm fairly happy with the outcome so its over to you guys to test it out and give the feedback, enjoy! ![]() Seems like the map is a server killer due to unoptimized collision borders around every tile arrgh hopefully I can get it fixed and have some hair left at the end. Be careful around the bases...... ![]() Ok optimization finished hopefully works better now! Times this by probably over a thousand tiles that equals a lot of unnecessary load. Since I'm new to the map making process I assumed (and hoped!) that by compiling the map the editor would somehow take care of this optimization by itself. Seems I was wrong! So now I've used a screenshot of the old map cut into large sections and reimported via "import large png" feature on the editor. As a result the collision borders are much more optimized and hopefully the map will run better on servers as a result. Failing this i'll have to pull some shenanigans like reducing the map size (6000x1600 currently) or fiddling with the backgrounds but hopefully it wont come to that! |

Map updated and completely redone phew, hopefully no more problems just need to get it uploaded to a server and tested!
![]() ------------- Reeslo (legend!) kindly uploaded the new updated map to his server and after a couple of tries the map works fine optimization wise (thank god!) although upon changing to the map I was dc/d each time which is strange!
