Default Their holinesses the [pope]s

Pope, the holy clan

The first popes gathered to create an environment that would improve the fun of the game, looking for that chemistry that brings players to imagine the same play before it happens.
As the popes were sensing the fun strong in other players and the clan was welcoming new members, the popes naturally took a step into the competitive world of the clans. However, because of he higher means of the clan, the competitive part of the game is embraced and/or left apart on occasion.

Thank you!
Yes on the organization part I'm kind of lazy as Kafka noticed, but as soon as I get everybody to check this forum we'll be up for scrimming threevenge!

Hello!
Let's talk scrims my popes!

I feel the best would be to have:
- Practice day, so we'll have the chance to improve our team game, which means having more fun, and to use our beautiful servers, and
- Scrims day, when we gonna try to have a scrim every week with another clan, possibily the more badass clans we can find, and if something doesn't work week to week it can easly became another practice day or a scrim with random players.

NOW

The scrim day must be either Saturday or Sunday, sunday is maybe the best rated, looking at the chances of getting other clans online, but Saturday works too, so let me know here if you have strong preferences. We'll use 4pm US EST unless goes against your availability.

The practice day, let everyone list their preferences and I'll take it from there, let's say we'll use 4pm US EST as time for practice as well.

All this is not to organize every week something so for me and for you is just so easier, we'll all know that if we are able to connect at a certain time in a certain day something will be happening. For scrims I'll still be posting here to let everybody know who we are playing with so you can confirm your presence.

Alright! I hope this is gonna go through quickly because I cannot wait to play.

Peace
SanGio

Default Keep in mind

various players' time zones when scheduling practices/scrims.

Weekend afternoons are best for most, but a practice on Saturday and scrims on Sundays may be overkill with such a short period of intermission between. If you plan a practice for weekdays, chances are your Euro players will be asleep by the time your US players are available to play. Just something to consider.

Stupid time zone differences

Yes I know, I'll see what happens when I have an idea of everybody's availability, I'm pretty sure scrims are gonna end up being on Sundays afternoons and we'll see about the practice

Hello, brother Holy Fathers.

I can't honestly commit to a fixed practice/scrim time. I've got 3 kids & a job, so I only play when opportunity arises. Soccer season is starting, so my weekends will start getting booked. I tend to be online mostly late nights, US Eastern Time.

Since this is my second post, you can see I don't visit the forum much. You can send me a PM if you need to contact me.

Thanks!

No problem Hrdina! If is meant to be it will happen,
we'll have to face the not easy task to find a defence as good as yours, but we'll make it.

LOL, thanks. I'll be there if I can.

For this weekend, I'll be in NYC for a tournament at Columbia stadium (218th St).

Hey guys! Xorg (of SMiLE) expressed interest in a possible scrim at some point. I think a friendly matchup against a pretty experienced team would be a great idea. Plus I haven't really gotten to play with you guys as a team yet (save some [pope]-filled Dojo games )

What do you think SanGio?

Also, a scrim vs TADOW on a weeknight is feasible, say 9pm EST...

Hey Kaf, let's shoot for wednesday night (April 3rd), 9pm EST

and see what happens.

Worst case scenario, we'll have a sweet dojo session.

I'm there! I'll talk to some popes in the coming days to let 'em know. Problem is that a decent amount of our team is EU, so they probably won't be able to come. Regardless, we should be able to assemble a 6 man team.

Bless you

Attention [pope]s: This is happening, try to make an appearance and have some fun. I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds by getting this set up with dan, but I think it's definitely a good idea for a friendly little scrim.

I'll try to in-game whisper this info to as many of you as I can, as I'm getting the sense that most of y'all aren't terribly active on the forums

also, SanGee, update dat roster!

Default Yes, it is happening

I whispered Mother's Lament and Lumn last night. Spread the word !

Lumn is in. Mother's Lament didn't respond.

I have confirmations from many TADOW members, looks like we're going to have the numbers

Default Scrim...

Well, it didn't happen, again.
  • Do pope members even know this thread exists ?
  • Is it true that Rico uninstalled Altitude?
  • Why did Lumn say he'd show up, and then didn't. Those people are the worst.
  • Should we try again next sunday 2pm EST?
Props to Kafka for trying to set this up (and showing up 20 minutes late).

I feel bad for Mother's Lament though, he shows up in vain every time we try to scrim Pope.

Sorry I've been absent lately but work took over most of my time.
I built this thread because I was supposed to in order to make the clan "official" and to organize scrims, then I asked everybody to read it and to post a reply to start building a habit to check here to know what's going on but it didn't really work to begin with, which is really not a big deal, and that made me as well less driven to use it.
I should be more on top of it.
I think we have great players and it would be so much fun to do organize these scrims, and practices too, as some are not really used to play together.
But again, I don't wanna throw in there too much time commitment, this is the most fun videogame and it should stay so!

Now Dan, let's make this happen, a scrim against T:
I say one week from today, Monday the 22, could be good?

Default Scrim ?

Well i doesn't cost anything to try.

What time tho ?

You have to remember that weekdays are not ideal, since North American player have jobs during the day.

7pm GMT means 2PM EST, so this is no good.

It would hve to be like 11pm GMT, which is 6pm EST ?

Or midnight GMT which is 7pm EST.

Long story short, weekends at 7pm to 9pm GMT are best for clans who have european and north american players, preferably sundays.

So what time ?

Hey guys. Just wanted to weigh in and say that I am usually around to start a scrim at around 11pm-12am GMT weekdays, but probably not too much later than that.
I am pretty flexible most weekends. I'll keep a closer eye on the forums so if a scrim gets organized, I can spread the word in game :P

Have a term paper due the next day, but I should still be able to make this in the name of procrastination.

EDIT: Also, i believe the difference is 4 hours, so 12am GMT = 8pm EST

Default My bad

Looks like you were right about the time Kaf ! Sorry.

---------------------

Just a heads-up: although there is a 5 hour difference between GMT and EST, we're currently in EDT -- not EST.

Midnight Altitude time (GMT) will be 8 pm local time if you're on the east coast.

When our clocks "fall back" later this year it'll return to a 5-hour difference, but until then we're 4 hours off from GMT (since we had "spring forward" but GMT doesn't).

- Harmonica

---------------------

TL;DR : Time is Midnight GMT, 8pm EDT, April 22 2013

Default Good games last night...

We got a record attendance of 4 POPE PLAYERS yesterday.

Congratulations!

Thanks for showing up to those 4, it was fun.

You guys should use a mailing list. It helps a lot.

Also paste the link to the forum in there...

because it seems like almost no one from Pope ever reads this.

Rematch anytime vs BRA or TADOW !

Default Vice-Captain

From left to right: Ricoshoes (dress by Dior, sword by Swarovsky), Kafka being appointed Vice-Captain (Yves Saint Laurent).

In virtue of the fact that recently Kafka spontaneously organized some scrims and for his great aesthetic taste in taking such beautiful screen shots,

Rico and I decided to appoint Kafka as Pope's Vice-Captain, in charge of the scrims organization.
