Default APL 10 Week 1

APL 9 Week 1 Sunday 8th September 2013, 2PM EDT/6PM GMT

For this tournament we will do a home and away round robin style tournament consisting of each team playing each other team twice: once home and once away. I have created a google spreadsheet seen at the link below:

APL 10 Schedule

Map pool: (to come)
Round1: Asteroids, bowsers, core, focus, heights
Round2: Cave, grotto, middleground, underpark, justice
Round3: Asteroids, fallout, mayhem, scrapyard, core
Round 4: Cave, lost city, woods, focus, underpark
Round 5: Ateroids, underpark, justice, core, mayhem
Roudn 6: Cave, bowsers, lost city, focus, middleground
Round 7: Asteroids, justice, fallout, grotto, mayhem
Round 8: Cave, woods, scrapyard, middleground, underpark
Round 9: Asteroids, core, grotto, heights, lost city
Round 10: Cave, mayhem, scrapyard, underpark, focus

Servers: Top games:apl servers/altitourney servers. Bottom games: Ladder servers 1,2 (ask a ladder admin to start you the tournament)

Format: Bo3 Round Robin. Top 2 teams will play for championship after regular season in one bo7.

Home Team: Chooses server for first two games. Loser of each game chooses next map.

IMPORTANT: To save time I will be doing away with vetoing with maps this season. A map pool will still be present, but the home team will just choose the map to start with loser having each next map choice.

All the other rules in the rules thread.

I will just build the rest of the weeks into this single thread, so map pools will be updated weekly in this thread.

Finally getting these videos posted. Have been focused on coding Capts Ladder. Unfortunately, Altitude was freezing constantly on my 2nd desktop while recording and I only have one game from each round to post. I have small parts of the other two games but not enough worth posting. Also I mistakenly recorded games on the wrong capture mode (3). When camera is following a player it won't show their name.

Sure it is a hard drive issue on the 2nd desktop, but have not looked into it yet so will use my laptop instead tomorrow.

Round 1: KLF vs Sammich

Round 2: IL vs PG

In unrelated news, there will be no test of Capts Ladder following APL as I did a significant rewrite of the parser and it is not quite ready. I assume Altitourney Ladder will be running, but I have not heard from Carlos lately.

For last week's results, KLF won against Hakuna 2-0.

As for this week, it goes:

KLF 2-0 PG
KLF 2-0 Sammich.

Good games.

Due to all games being posted in this thread, it is extremely helpful to post either which week or which game numbers are being posted.

Catching up on video uploads..

Round 3: Sammich vs PG
Round 4: KLF vs Hakuna
Round 5: PG vs KLF
Round 6: Sammich vs KLF

Still only able to record one match at a time. Have not had time to try and fix my other desktop which may need a new hard drive. And a laptop that I used to record during last SL wasn't working either with FPS dipping down to around 5 very often. Never good to record to system drive and/or same drive as game is installed but worked well enough during SL so not sure what changed. I am hoping to be able to record 2 games at the same time by playoffs.

I am going to Broncos vs Eagles game this Sunday so definitely will not be recording round 8. I am hoping to record one of the round 7 games but not sure yet if I will be here for round 7 either.

Since games were fast, I was actually able to record games from both rounds.

Round 7 - PG vs IL
Round 8 - IL vs KLF

class: Are you having difficulty seeing the total score column, or a difficulty figuring out which number is the largest? (But seriously, it's hard to read? define)

The issue is people are looking at the wrong page in the google doc. The one linked to shows the "APL 10" page and not the "APL 10 Better Page".

You can all get to the right one by clicking on the appropriate tab at the bottom of the page.

So if KLF and IL both win the same amount of games this week, we will play a bo1 tiebreaker. When will that be played?

Would be a three way tie if KLF and IL win matches this week 2-0. Teams always find a way to complicate playoffs recently so this will probably happen.

I mean it is a bo1, the finals will be next week, so I don't know why we would need this whole big schedule thing, it will take 15-20 mins. Not a big deal imo.

If sammies do make it into the finals I would request that the team we play postpone by one week since we have a considerable number of members planning on being gone next week. =x

Also - if sammies lose to IL 2-0. Then there's a 3 way tie that we'd have to deal with - which is more than a simple bo1.

Edit: What's the map pool for this week?

That is fine as long as the teams agree, and the map pool is updated.

Championship Pool (bo7): cave, asteroids, grotto, underpark, heights, focus, mayhem

Sammich picks first map and server

Loser picks map afterward

If server switching is necessary will follow 232 format (SSKKKSS) (unless otherwise agreed to different format by both teams)
S=sammich
K=KLF

GL to both teams

Due to waning interests in this game and a work schedule that has me almost never available. I am relinquishing my duties as tournament organizer. I think as a community it is best to find people to help organize tournaments if that is what is deemed people still want. Thanks!
