A Few Things That Need Fixin'
I have mentioned most of these before and I know other people have mentioned them as well. They are small to moderate annoyances in game that seem like they could be fixed fairly easily.
* Change it so it doesn't automatically bring a chat window to the front when someone sends you a message. I can't tell you how many times I have been talking to 2+ people at the same time and it just makes me want to break my computer when each of the windows pops up every time they type something. The reason this is annoying is because you will be typing in one chat box and it automatically switches to the other so you can't even finish typing your sentence. Just make it flash or something when we get a new message or give us the option to shut off what it does now. * Change it so we can turn off friend alerts. I don't mind accepting friend requests and having a large friend list but when I constantly have to deal with a huge box obscuring my screen that days "PLAYER123 LOGGED ON" and "PLAYER123 JOINED A SERVER" it gets rather annoying. Also, considering they stack on each other it can take up a substantial portion of your screen. * When you type /kick, /ban, /mute, etc just show us the whole list of players and their numbers. Often times you are still alive when you are trying to type it and it's annoying to have to scroll through the whole list of players to find the one you want. It should just be quick and easy to access the list. Just assume that if I type one of those commands that I won't mind if you take up a little more screen room to display all the people that are currently playing on the server. Also, it might help to display a small number next to each player on the scoreboard so I can just tab to find the client ID prior to initiating the vote kick or whatever. * Let us use the old UI. You put in the current UI like 6 months ago telling us that you were just "testing it out" and now it's been 6 months and you still haven't given us the old UI back nor the option to even switch to it. And on this note, let us move around the different boxes in the UI. I want to be able to move the combat log, chat box, etc. A simple lock/unlock mechanism would work really nicely. That is what they do in WoW. * Give us the option to mark a server as "full copy" only in the server config. This was asked for many months ago when the game was first coming out but I think it's time you let us do this to our servers without having to constantly ban demo users when they come into the server. I am tired of these public games that are just infested with demo players. The quality of the gaming experience has dropped dramatically with all the demo users. Even if there isn't an official server that is "full copy" at least let us filter out the demo users without either having to password protect or constantly ban players. |

I am also bothered by friends alerts. When I play random, which is usually, friend alerts cover up the portion of my screen that tells me which perks I have. If perks just hovered above, that'd be fine.
As for the other points, eh, never really bothered me. And I am strongly against anti-demo servers until the player base is much larger. |

I'm indifferent to the top part of your list. I run into basically none of those problems (or at least, not often enough to give a ****) but I'm not anti-convenience or anything.
I would like the old UI too, but it's been long enough that I'm no longer bothered by the new UI :[ I'm pretty anti-anti-demo user servers. You could just have a passworded server and only tell your cool full-purchase buyer friends the password. |

Agree with all the random UI options.
Disagree for now about making non-demo servers, altho I'd love to have that option as soon as the game gets more popular. I personally prefer the new UI, but I think it'd be cool to have an option to select which one you want. And I'd have the old UI on by default since it makes the game look prettier. Some other random feedback since this is as good a place as any to post it: * It'd be nice if while in tourney mode all non-tourney players were confined to spectator chat only. Saw some people getting annoying at spectators talking during a league game a couple times. * Powerup missile should spawn from where normal weapon projectiles spawn, not under the plane. I sometimes **** this up in tunnels and hurt myself. It looks nicer the way it is, but it's counter-intuitive and prone to frustration. * Saw a cool thing in Fat Princess: in the victory / game over screen, they allow you to vote for the next map in the menu. They give you three options and you can select whichever you prefer. * Another FP thing that was kind of interesting: their deathmatch gives each team a number of lives, and you just keep respawning until one side depletes the other side completely. the annoying part about this is that lopsided games become obvious and unwinnable REALLY quickly, but I think the idea is promising. * Game mode instructions (or general game tips) in the loading screens would be cool. * It's pretty annoying the way the UI blocks the top of the map when obsing, esp in TDM. Joining the spectator team should remove that UI ala capture mode. * start/stop tournament % threshold really needs to go down (I think I wrote this down before the patch, wasn't this lowered actually? I dunno) * bomb indicator should not disappear when it's dropped, sometimes I'll think a long lob = enemy dead so I'll stop waiting to catch by the base. * Maybe add a small cooldown to warp on Miranda to prevent double-warping into walls? * Maybe increase Loopy max speed while carrying the bomb? I think it makes the game more fun / team composition more interesting if Loopy is a great bomb carrier, and it's kind of been overtaken by the Biplane. * I'd love to be able to mouseover the friends icon in the server list to see which friends specifically are on each server. |

Agreed with friend alert one, definitely. More than a little annoying if you're playing mayhem tdm and chasing someone into the bottom right but then that whole portion of screen is covered up by your friends joining servers.

What if friend alerts popped up in bottom right just as text, like the chat and kills and everything else, instead of a terrible big red box of death?

I like this one. There should be some sort of animation to indicate that an offscreen bomb has been released (giving it a rocket trail or something).

The bomb icon should flash white once an offscreen bomb has been dropped
|

I do like the friend alerts to be honest... I like to join their game most of the time.

agree with all the convenience features.
Although it would be a nice change to not have to deal with all the demo users flopping around, I dont think the playerbase is big enough yet. It would really alienate the demo users too which isn't the best thing to do. missle comming under you is annoying but i guess its part of skill to use the missle right so keep it. i dont think bomb indicator should show lobbed bombs. Its part of skill to anticipate where the bomb is comming from and block it. cooldown to miranda warp is NOT GOOD I support a very slight increase in loopy speed while carrying the bomb. Right now i really cant even tell a difference between loopy and biplane speed. |

To clarify, I'm talking about ~0.1 seconds. I see lots and lots of very experienced players warping into walls, but I don't know if I've ever seen someone need to warp twice in 1/10 of a second. Your energy is your main limiter there, so this has basically no effect on (intentional) gameplay.

even a slight delay would be a nerf. I mean I occasionally double warp when I inteded to do one warp, but its not too hard to stop it after 1 warp. On the flip side, there are times when you want to double warp to hit someone twice with the warp and this would be affected by the delay.

I'm perfectly fine with a .1 second nerf to warp. The # of times where I double warp when I dont want to is greater than the number of times that I want to double warp.
