Team Holy War

anyways.....depending on the fruits of my recruiting, I think I want to form a new team. I don't want to just join another good team because that would just solidify the tourney as a 5 man game between the top teams and wouldn't make the overall tourney better.

Reason:

Altitude needs more decent (read non-crappy) teams, not just a handful of teams which are damn near invincible to all outside that handful.

Goal:

To recruit / poach / steal experienced fliers of the altitude community in order to bring more real competition into this next tourney. More good teams = better tourney. Bringing down the infidels also goes under this category. Better hope I don't get my hands on a flippy floppy laser plane that breaks boundaries of time and space in real life.

If you are an experienced player on a team, consider Holy War as an opportunity to add another competitive (read, can win games against non-demo teams) team to the altitude tourney and make the tourney more fun and interesting for all.

im sure the top teams are still way ahead, but the gaps are closing ever so slowly. There are some people with decent killing ability and others with decent bomb running. While they lack overall game sense, i beleive some of them are improving little by little. If these people play consistently for a month they should get to a level where they can play competently.

I mean I was pretty good at killing and zid was a good teamplayer, but now we both have a complete game. This improvement was all in like a span of one month or so. It doesnt take too long to improve at this game.

We currently have interest from PigBomb and Scheherazade, not a bad start for the first day.

Gameguard can play too if he wants. He can be our star player. We will worship him...not like those fLb scum who undervalue his powers.....

Well I'm glad ARAB is doing this, teams like mine, BOSS, and BM would to have teams that are equal to us, rather than us vs. fLb or ACE. Though i'm pretty sure if you asked some other people BOSS is pretty amazing!

AFAIK, Arab want's his name on the team - this isn't the easiest way to push up a team to the top level.

it looks like HW is getting some decent response, so any more people and I'll hold trials just to see what people's strengths are and determine "starters." I plan on playing to people's strengths though, so hopefully I'll get in some good rotations and combos.

If we get over 10 interested people....I'll hold tryouts for the insurgent roster.

VETERANS WANTED

I don't want anyone to get the impression that this will be just a one time whore in any takers clan that doesn't show up to games and has no organizations.

Right now, i'm gathering interested people just to have enough backing to function.

If I get enough response, I'll start to hold try-outs, trials, and scrims for roster spots.

update:

Nathor is a crucial addition to our previously explo-less team. One of the best pilots to join altitude within the last month or so.

Now that HW looks pretty solid, I'm going to start gameplanning strategies according to our strengths.

Recruiting will still be the top priority as I know there are free agent veterans out there. Because we already have 8 players, I may have to cut some depending on how many veterans I recruit and how many people are allowed on the roster come next tourney.

Scrimmages and "trials" so I can get a feel for how the team will operate. Which player combos work best, what maps we're best on, who runs bomb, what I'll play, etc.
