New Season Starts Tomorrow (Monday)

Thanks for the help testing. It was needed far more than I anticipated since the new rating system was filled with bugs. I guess that is what happens when I have often stayed up late writing code until 4AM.

I believe the rating system bugs should all be fixed now, but I will do more testing later. Twitter is broken for some reason, but I'm sure I can fix whatever is wrong with it tonight. I also still have to code achievements. I will make a post tomorrow with the final list of achievements and changes since last season.

There will be a Day One achievement for anyone who plays at least one game tomorrow (based on EDT, for clarification in the unexpected event ladder runs past midnight EDT). I will give everyone who helped test today this achievement too.

I will try as hard as I can to get the new ladder servers running by 3PM EDT as ladder had most recently started between 3 and 4PM EDT most of the time. I think this should not be a problem, but worst case it might take up to an extra 2 hours beyond this.

I am hoping to get player profile pages including achievements added by next Monday.

Ball will be the only mode available tomorrow. TBD will be back within a few days at most. Dodgeball and DM modes will be unavailable for an extended period as they require code changes that are low priority.

3PM EDT definitely is not happening. I am in the middle of coding the individual achievements now. I see no reason why it wouldn't be ready at least by 5PM EDT so lets just plan for that. Should give me time to grab some lunch before starting hopefully.

The onslaught of despair shows no sign of abating. We lost track of the days long ago - we now watch the moon's lopsided grin as it widens and thins out again as our measure of time. We are sadly not far from abandoning the task altogether and resorting to counting years, one for every time our scraggly, lean pub servers blossom and yield edible fruit. They only do for a short while, and on occasion some diseased game trots by and we are able to catch some. All substances of this land are harsh, chewy, and probably cancerous as well.

Some say our promised Savior has gone the way of the Mayan calendar - Judgment Day has come and passed, and no changes have occurred, for the end of each cycle does not mean a new beginning. Instead, it merely indicates the imperceptible start of a new one.

Since the season started a bit late today, the Day One achievement is available to anyone who plays at least one game tomorrow as well. No crashes yet so hopefully everything is working.
