Totally agree with this. We need to wait for Lamster response.

is your ego so large that you actually need recognition that you paid for the games while others didn't?

No,
It's just usual that when game goes to F2P paid users get something.
I feel like "You paid for my game now f*ck off I don't know you."

w/e, i'm not going to start an argument on a news forum. but you don't deserve anything extra simply because you bought the game, hell i'd buy it 10 more times just to support karlam. if you feel strongly about it though, feel free to pm me and we can discuss it.

For once in a blue moon, I agree with leggo.

We don't need a special badge to prove we paid for a game. Your consolation prize is knowing you financially supported a game in the long-run (well for many of us at least, I don't know how long ago you started playing) and kept it alive by playing when others had given up.

Additionally, you have a leg up on newer players by actually knowing how to play the game properly. Provide tips and tricks to the newer players in a constructive and timely manner, and you will be rewarded with knowing you did something positive for the community.

But if you must have it, here you go;

Thank you,
I posted my opinion...
If you think that I deserve nothing because I paid for this you propably get this game from your parents money.
Please look what happened in other games when they go to F2P. All paid players get something for paying. Even simple Thank You is good but if you think that you don't deserve it...or if developer don't think about players...
Here is example. Gotham City Impostors - Bought it. Then games go to F2P. What i've get ? Big thank you and all DLC. Simple and appreciates paid players. Everyone is happy.

What about increasing plane speed and bullet travel speed a bit (25%) to match old screen resolution feeling? Or just bullet speed :| Uhmm

Default Thanks!

Hi All

I was going to say that I enjoyed countless hours playing Altitude, but the game actually counts them, so ... erm.. Thanks Nimbly Games. I hope you have been very successful with Altitude and that your next projects are at least as good.

BRB I'm gonna shoot some noobs.

Now that the afk timer doesn't kick players anymore (unless server is full)(also thank you), could someone that is over 5m afk have their name color changed or other marker to indicate their not-here-y-ness??

Logged in yesterday and didn't really understand what had happened to the resolutions, guess I'm not used to it!

I think this is a step in the right direction and I hope you manage to find a financial model that can help this game grow without you losing out on too much. The potential is definitely there. I do think however that there should be support for both 4:3 and 16:9. Most people playing altitude won't have monster PCs, and probably won't have widescreen monitors either. I'm obviously a little biased because I've played this game in 4:3 for 5 years now, but I think it should be added.

Besides that, I'm very interested what this will bring for altitude and I can't wait! You two have never failed to impress me with the way you deal with the situation altitude has been in.

That would just make it unfair, that some players can see 25% more of the screen.

Damn, I haven't even seen a 4:3 monitor in the last 5 years!

Just like field of view in some fps games, eg in Quake.

I gotta say, initially I was greatly against the widescreen but after playing a week, it hasn't broke the game as badly as I thought, if at all. Of course seeing more changes some playing aspects (clearing, ball handling) but that works both ways. When clearing, you can see further away and while attacking, same thing, you can anticipate more easily where the ball will be cleared.

I haven't noticed any plane/perk being totally out of place. Then again, I haven't seen a good HC which imo got the biggest buff.

I feel that the widescreen has actually increased the skill ceiling. Now there's so much more happening in the screen, what you have to register, and you need to anticipate off screen movement from even further away than before.

I'd still love to see that toggleable reticle and opacity option for ExpLog.

I second that... How can some of you complain..? Adding support for widescreen changes EVERYTHING. Widescreen has given us vets a new challenge.

-Long-range attack is now really possible.
-Long-range goal shots are easier.
-Goal Defense is harder.
-Loopy single-shot tracking perk is now much more useful.
-Whale's "useful" missile range had increased significantly.
-The dreaded HC is now a long-range sniper... (Beagle may be intrigued enough for a comeback... ha)
-I can land my 'nades at a ridiculous distance...

And those are just the few things that I have noticed...

Change is good. Embrace it.

And our thanks to Karlam for, yet again, breathing alittle more life into Alti!

Ah yes, everyone was given 200 extra CP. I just checked on my main and smurf account. Perhaps it was in compensation for community points being discontinued since the latest patch.

Altitude is free, well that's awesome, that means more players to kill and such. Altitude has been one of the best games in my opinion, and seeing it free means the community can grow some more. Although, Altitude will never die in my heart, as it has been one of the most memorable game for me. 1DM brings alot of those memories to mind, with tons of randas and rev whales :P. Also, widescreen is going to be nice on trickster randa, just imagine all the snipe-shots you can make.
So, thank you very much Nimbly Games .

Default Skins

For skins, I imagine the easiest thing to implement would be to just make them available to everyone. If we still want to tie to something 'earned', perhaps it can be replaced by kill count? 200 kills to a new skin won't take too long individually, but it still won't be as if you can just earn every skin in a night. I just want my skin, it's the best part of the chicken

That's about 50 games on ladder. Sounds like you would be done with that before you got Ace 10.

50 games to get 200 kills? Laughing my ass off.

What if you were to set milestones for each plane? Say, get 500 Lifetime kills on any plane and you get the Shark skin, 1250 for Camo, 2500 for Flame, 3750 for Santa and 5000 for Checkers (such value)? That makes up a total of 13000 kills on each plane, which is roughly something, assuming there are still players out there who main one in specific.

Good press and good will are the best I believe they gain. This is one of the strongest things they could do to help the community which purchased their game.

Not all actions require a direct benefit to the action taker.

Oh my gosh I never thought I'd see the day this game would be free. Bought this game for $20 back in May 2009 and it was worth it! I feel like this the endgame for Alti when it comes to a game with a story but my thanks goes out to Karl, Erik, and the community for making my experiences with this game memorable. I'm about to redownload and check out the changes. (':

I think the /overrideSpawnPoint and the actual spawn code are mis-aligned. /overrideSpawnPoint requires the angle parameter to be between 0 and 360. If you enter an angle above 180, when a player spawns, the following message goes to stdout:

WARN : value 216 is greater than max(180)

It is my guess that the spawn code wants an angle between -180 and 180, this makes sense as it is more in line with what you would get from an atan2 function. Either way, you cannot currently force a player to spawn with a downward facing angle.

Thanks for the report, this will be fixed in the next patch (/overrideSpawnPoint will take values in the range -180,180 rather than 0,360)

If I could add a little more into this, when moving servers by admin command, people get kicked withing the 5 min idle time when this shouldn't happen.
