Default ball_eidum

ball_eidum

NOW PLAYABLE AT: Half Baked, Khranos' Custom Ball, Khranos' Tinyplanes Custom Ball
As of 1/17/15

New version:

Updated 1/20/15 Download Link http://s000.tinyupload.com/download....88124071031467

Old version:

I submit ball_eidum for your viewing and playing pleasure.

I originally drew a bunch of assets for a new map, then decided none of them really worked well on their own. Rather than just throw away my art, I combined the assets with sky islands of ball_serenity. Thus, ball_eidum came into existence.

It's basically an upgraded version of ball_serenity, but slightly different. I opened up more of the flying lanes and made everything generally prettier. I took some suggestions from the few ladder games I was present for on ball_serenity and incorporated them into eidum.

Other changes include resizing and redrawing most of the assets to cut down on stretching and overall file size, which lead to many hrs of painstakingly redrawing the luons. Everything plays much cleaner now and the ball takes fewer odd bounces.

The map is still relatively huge in file size for a ball map, but oh well what can you do?--sacrifices must be made for quality.

I hope you all like it ^^

Well I was going to put this up real quick but there are lots of problems. Objects on the wrong layers, missing collision outlines, etc.

Hmm ok. Ill give it another look over when I get out of work in a few hrs

Edit: okay I've uploaded a new version. I'm not exactly sure what missing collision outlines you're talking about - they all seem to be there to me - but I did redo some of the graphics' layers.

Oh, didn't know you uploaded a new version. It looks like the collision outlines are all there in the new version. Still has at least one problem left with the top middle object not being on the Game layer so is not visible with parallax false.

I didn't think I was ever going to update this map again, but it has always been a favorite of mine and it seemed wrong to let it just fall into obscurity unpolished.

So, I gave this map a pretty big overhaul. I rearranged the small floating islands to not be so limiting to passing and shooting lanes and flipped the island with the castle 180 so there is more room to bounce the ball into the goal. These changes should give the offense a few different options to attack the goal rather than just pushing the bottom route.

For the cosmetics, I textured the background to cut the filesize down by nearly half and make the background sprites more translucent so they don't distract from the game as much. I also added parallax to the background objects to give the picture some depth.

Updated with new version. Mostly just lightened the background sprites and moved a few objects from game layer to the background, ie the bridges and trees
