I'm Belgian, from Brussels.
places to see: *In Brussels: -The Grand Place (and surroundings): it's the center of Brussels, you must go there. It's not only a historic & beautiful place to visit but also a great neighbourhood to hang around. There's a restaurant on it that serves great traditional Belgian food called 'Het Kelderke' (=the little cellar in dutch). While you're there, don't miss the Delirium Cafe which is probably the best bar in the world (honestly); they offer 3162 different beers, many of which are awesome Belgian beers, plus the atmosphere is great. Also opposite to that bar is the Floris where you should go have some absinthe the correct way, i.e. ignited & with sugar. If you're into nightclubs there's a few decent ones nearby, although they aren't the ones with the best music. Amazing waffle places all around of course. -The Atomium: perhaps you've seen it in pictures, it was named Europe's most bizarre building. It's 102 meters tall and gives a panoramic view of Brussels. -Waterloo: the historic site of the battle of Waterloo. A beautiful place to visit & walk around. Also in June (18th if I'm not mistaken) there will be a maaaassive reenactment of the battle for its 200th anniversary. -Parc du Cinquantenaire & Parc Royal: Two beautiful parks close to one another, one featuring a few cool museums and the other in front of the royal palace (+other stuff around it). -I can't really think of more stuff in Brussels right now but there's a ton of other places to go, e.g. churches museums etc, but if you're here hit me up and we can have a drink. *Rest of Belgium: Bruges is an old city that many tourists love, it'll make for a good one-day excursion. There's also a good atmosphere in a few coastal cities such as Blankenberge but tbf I don't really know what you can do there. The Ardennes forest in the South East is also a very beautiful place to go hiking. You might want to catch a festival since you'll be visiting during the holidays, Belgium has some of the biggest and best in Europe! Don't forget that Belgium is majoritarily bilingual (although officially trilingual) so everyone won't be speaking French. Most people know good English. Belgian people are generally very friendly so don't hesitate to approach us!

Hey. Don’t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t post something. Not even me. All right? You got a dream? You gotta protect it. People can’t post something themselves, they want to tell you you can’t post it. You wanna post something? Go post it! Period!
