As a note, I created a team called "bye" if you are scheduled against this team, that means you do not play that round.

Why is warehouse in the pool but not antre, cliff, and especially REEF which are all better maps?

So first off, I kept the map pool the same from last SL based on suggestions previous to last SL. No one complained about anything during the season as far as I am concerned. I would be happy to change/add/delete if feedback consisted more from a variety of players including at least one from every team.
Of the maps you mentioned, I believe cliff is the only one which I would personally put in. Antre is close, but reef in my opinion is a bad map, I hate the bottom of the map and the top is a little tight for what I would like on a competitive map. Just an fyi, I also like warehouse despite there being a few glaring flaws (random side boxes in the bottom and the box in the middle that kind of blocks the goal from bottom shots), but overall I think it is a good map. But again, if we went with maps that everyone generally like, we would be left with like 3-5 maps only. Again, I am open to suggestions, but will not change anything unless a more diverse group of players chime in. Last edited by darknietzsche; 01-08-2015 at 07:21 PM. |

+1 Reef, map has become quite popular.
If we wanted more maps Cliff and Antre are acceptable too. I'd like Antre more if there weren't a few places on the map the ball can get stuck easily. I'm personally fine with just about any map though for regular season that isn't doodle. |

Warehouse games tend to be really tedious. I don't mind long games, warehouse games just happen to be really annoying and boring.
I don't see why reef and antre couldn't be in the map pool. -J |

I doubt that you'll get 1 person from each team to post here given the inactivity of the forums, but as van said, reef has indeed become quite widely popular (I hear no one complain about it ingame). With antre and cliff I am less sure about the general consensus but I'm all for lots of maps -- the more maps the more interesting the games.
My main issue with warehouse is not an inherent badness but just that as J said the games become very tedious and predictable. The ball gets passed back and forth around the bottom until someone manages to pull off a multikill with a shield or something. It is like hardcourt in ladder in this respect, but I think that more coordinated teams have learned that there is good passing to be had on hc that there simply isn't room for in warehouse. |

The problem with any argument is that pretty much the maps in discussion have little to no experience on league play, I think maps play pretty differently in league in ladder.
For example, hardcourt. The original in my opinion is a great map for league, but as has been shown/discussed ladder had a terrible time. I don't mind adding these maps for regular season and then discuss if post-season should also include them. |

Probably won't end up being around, other admins (ball'n, ssd, vanishing, aki, etc.) can take care of things today. GL everyone!

I have partially converted servers over to a new system for league play. I recommend that you use the new method described below for this week, but you may also start matches as we have in the past.
There is a separate lobby map for SkyLeague, lobby_sl. This is primarily to make it clear a league match is in progress. In addition certain clan features are only usable/active while on this map. By next Sunday you will likely be required to use this map for organizing league matches and do so using.... new console command: /clan <clan command> As of now only three clan commands are supported and all three of these commands are usable by all clan captains, ladder admins, and SL admin ssd: /clan lobby - If on any map other than lobby_sl will change map to lobby_sl as long as no vote or ladder match is in progress. If a clan vs clan match is in progress that you want to stop, calling this command will end it and return to lobby (same effect as the admin stop command). After clan vs clan games end it will always return to ladder lobby. But you can go right back to sl lobby with /clan lobby. If current map is lobby_sl, command changes to ladder lobby (lobby_ball). /clan start - Starts tournament if on lobby_sl map and tournament is not on. Note that this command will do nothing if a team is empty. /clan stop - Starts tournament if on lobby_sl map and tournament is on. So the benefits for this week, if you use the new system, is clear indication that server is being used for league and easier to stop/start tournament. Next week this system will be required and will also support /clan kick (probably 15m ban) and /clan drop to allow clan capts to get rid of spammers. Most likely players not registered to an SL team will be locked in spec on lobby_sl as well with some way for capts/admins to override the lock for scrims. Will allow up to 4 captains per clan and I have set captains based on the SL 11 registration thread and/or clan threads. I do not know any co-captains for Vlix or ZroG so only a single captain is set for these clans. I can quickly add more though. |

That lobby message in top right for ladder and SL is boss. Took me too long to figure out how it was done. Awesome.
For those that use /para false, please turn para true for long enough to witness it. Request for future: /clan help or /clan list to help describe how to use the command. Code:
/clan help The clan command can be used to for various APL and SL task for clans. See '/clan list' for a list of valid commands. /clan list Valid commands for '/clan <option>' include: lobby, start, stop /clan help lobby If not in lobby_sl, no vote is active, and no ladder match is in progress, changes map to lobby_sl. This change map also happens during clan games as another means of stopping a clan match. If in lobby_sl, changes map to Ladder's Lobby. Last edited by Aki1024; 01-11-2015 at 03:42 PM. |

Results and game stats from clan vs clan games is posted at http://altituderank.com/clans/games/. Will work on getting it to identify the clans who played in each match on the games list soon. Also will add season stats per player like we have for ladder when I get some time.

I recorded as much as I could today, a total of 8 games. Most of them were complete, but I came into a few late.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/7h4hyyhpk6...5_week1.tar.gz I'll probably edit this up and put it on youtube later. |
