Default Ball_Village2

Ball Village2

New Version

Download link as of 2/3/15 http://s000.tinyupload.com/download....94790231591606

My latest creation, Ball Village2. There is no ball_village 1.

My first attempt at bringing some orthographic art to the game. I went with easy sprites that I downloaded from OpenGameArt.org, and created the textures myself.

The turrets in the corners are harmless, but provide a nice light show if you get too close There is a relatively easy bounce shot from the top lane going down into the goal off the side of the house, as long as you can keep your cool.

The small circular shrubs around the map and in the corners do 1/2 less damage and are .25 more bouncy.

As a side note, this is the smallest map I've made yet weighing in at .133mb!

Enjoy

Thanks for the support!

I wasn't exactly finished with the map when I made this post, so I kept on working.
I extensively redid most of the textures and sharpened all of the sprites. I think it feels much more natural now and I'm pretty happy as it stands.

I do not understand why you like to make all these crazy tight passages. Even taking it to a new extreme with the middle building and top middle area.
Looks good but is not playable.

Oyster, can you make a ball_village1? Maybe 1.5x the size too. So we can have MORE PRETTY TEXTURES!

This map was more or less a test to see if Alti could sustain an immersive isometric environment without making the pilots (us) too disoriented. Some maps like planepark use isometrics around the unplayable areas of the board, but Village2 is unique in that we are actually interacting with the objects. I think it turned out really well and shows definite promise!

It was also my first time relying mostly on textures to create the atmosphere of the map rather than sprites.

I am currently planning two new maps using similar (but very much improved) graphics - one centered around the throne room of a castle and the other being ancient ruins on an island chain
