SL 11 Playoffs

SkyLeague 11 Playoffs March 8th 2 PM EDT/6 PM GMT/ 6 PM UTC/ 11 AM PDT


Rounds to be Played: Matches A-E and Match I

Games will be bo3 for these matches. Top seed chooses either pick map or server to start lower seed will do the other. Loser chooses map afterward. After 2 games, lower seed can switch servers.

Map Pools: To come Saturday before 12PM EST.
Matches A-C: Cave, Core, illumination, skylands, cross
Matches D,E, and I: Planepark, funnelpark, maze, labyrinth, mayhem 2

DST starts this Sunday for USA so I don't think your GMT/UTC times are correct

i think we should probably play matches j and k this week too, then do bo5s for F and M as well as L next week assuming we want to do a 3 week playoffs including finals

this way each team will play a max of three bo3s in week 1 instead of possibly doing two bo3s and a bo5 or a bo3 and two bo5s (depending on if you want match M to be bo3 or bo5) in week 2

Thanks, did not even think about that. It is important that the euros realize this will start an hour earlier than normal for them until their daylight savings time begin.


People complain too much when they have 3 games in one day, so I would rather not deal with it this time around. Plus the loser in A has to wait around for their opponent to play in match J which isn't fair either.

This was my plans for the post season:

Week 1: Matches A-E and I (all bo3)
Week 2: Matches Jand K (bo3) L (bo5) and F (bo5)
Week 3: Losers Final match M (bo7)
Week 4: Finals (possible 2x bo7)

oh i hadn't even thought of making it a 4 week playoffs but i guess if there's no playoff break after the regular season then it's the same length as usual. format looks good

i think personally i would rather have the chance of playing 3 bo3 sets than the chance of only playing 1, but obviously i'm not european and don't have to worry about it running too late

I think 4 week style would work best, especially as there might be minor turnout issues week 1 due to dst

In addition to the current NJ and EU servers, I plan to run a second US server named US for tomorrow and possibly future Sundays.

Again nothing has been fixed with the parser. It has had issues 2 of the last 4 weeks on US server. All focus is on the new parser, not wasting time troubleshooting the old flawed code. I think it may be the parser lagging way behind in processing the game data for some reason.

So again if tournament does not stop please let me know before trying to do anything on your own (admin stopping, server switch, etc).

I might temporarily remove clan chat in case that is related to the problem.

Just to clarify, does the seeding stay the same throughout the playoffs?
If {ball} reaches the finals from losers brackets, are they still the top seed? Or will the top seed be the team that gets into finals from winners brackets? (or in other games, the team that is in the top box)

Winners bracket team will supercede initial seeding.

Instead of disabling clan chat I have set it to only work on the same server. Clan chats sent on EU for example will be seen on all EU servers but not NJ or US. Cross server will be added again in new parser.

When is the next round of playoffs?

If its this weekend I doubt alot of people from UK (inc me) will be available (Mothering Sunday).

Next round of playoffs is this sunday at 6pm GMT as it was supposed to be last week (so euros this is mostly directed at you, and captains are responsible for letting players know this). Teams will be forced forfeits for not showing up this week without prior knowledge.

I am not postponing anything based on one player telling me they can't be here. I would discuss with your team, and if you don't think you can field 6 then talk to your opponents about rescheduling.

Also, this is all for naught if a lot people come and tell me they cant be here all of the sudden on Sunday (which I will then cancel).

So.... sporting event yes..... Country event no.....

Doesnt really matter as 6pm is far too early for me to play anyway, I'll talk to the other members and see if anyone is in a different situation.

I did not say I would not cancel, but to my knowledge you are the only one who has a problem. If people came and said they could not make it, then it would be a different story. I am not picking on you in particular, but like I said 99%>1%.
