Balance Rubber?
I didn't get the first nerf tbh.
You had the least used green perk, and you nerfed it. Now its useless, and whales, the most powerful and most useful plane int he game became stronger. You know whats not even helpful against whales anymore? Rubber. They do so much damage to rubber right now I get quick killed, by a whale, which also knocks me off course. The problem is, even in ball now 3 whale defense is effective! This is ridiculous, in 6v6 3 whales on a team is strong. Buff Rubber, provide a decent counter to mass whales (like the 4 pool, skilless and very effective pre-patch) |

Rubber is supposed to be used only while you're learning to play, not used in regular play

It lets you play more aggressively as whale, and lets you goal tend easier on hard walls (as in, sit with your face in the goal, and **** mines on people trying to dunk) |

I'm not sure this change you speak of was actually a "nerf" (http://altitudegame.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1964). Before the patch was implemented, rubber hull users almost completely negated the usefulness of one plane. That doesn't sound very balanced to me. The point of rubber hull is to reduce the damage taken from walls at initial impact and to eject you to a safe distance so you can fly away from said collidable object. And, of course, the general play strategy of an explodet user is to cause his opponents to crash into walls -- the mines and missiles really do minimal damage in open air considering their ejection rate. That being said, there really aren't any other perks that so specifically counter the effectiveness of one particular plane.
I think saying the explodet is the most powerful and useful plane in the game is a little subjective. Three or more of any plane in the hands of competent users can be troublesome. Try playing against a team that has King!, Sinstar, and UFO all piloting mirandas and nipping at your butt. It probably wouldn't be a pretty sight. In any case, perhaps learning how to combat an explo would be more productive. Try throwing a couple of good bombers on your team. I've found this is a very good counter to one or multiple explos. If you ask me, I think rubber hull is still OP against explodets (if imbalanced at all). I wouldn't mess with balancing it any more at this point, however. |

I think we need rubber the way it was. Otherwise what are you supposed to do when a team has 3 or more whales?
Lots of whales make games last hours, at least rubber kind of balanced that. |

I'm not even talking about 3 of the best whales, 3 average whales is very troublesome, 3 average Mirandas is not. Rubber is supposed to stop the bouncy, but the increase in damage taken from rubber means a rubber randa is 2 hit (not just mine/misisle but missile/missile even!). The problem is the counters to whale are few, especially en mass, rubber - a perk which means you can't repair, have HA or flexi (3 great perks) used to fill this gap before the whales complained about bouncy servers (and somewhere in there rubber armor, under used as it was already, got bunched in to the reasonable complaint about bouncy walls for whales). When you see no top tier teams who play rubber, then it gets nerfed i'm not sure what to think. This is my viewpoint and argument for the reinstatement of old rubber but also the keeping of the damage increase to whale rockets on bouncy servers only. Right now, I can only see 3 consistant counters for whales, all of which rely on the team to draw the whale's sttention so the counter can get close. Laser Miranda and Acid Loopy are good, but require spending prolonged time in close proximity to the Explodet. While bomber is likely as close to a safe "counter" as we'll get, it still has difficulty taking out a top-tier whale. However, the same could be said for any top-tier plane.
