Default Spectate friend

New feature would be accesible from friends list, right next to "join game" button, where you join game where your friend is playing.

Button picture could be like an eyeball. Pressing the button "Spectate friend", would send that person a vote, weather he allowes you to spectate him.

If you are allowed to spectate, you join server, but wouldn't occupie free spaces for players to join.
After joining with "Spectate friend" mode, you only see what the spectated player sees. You don't have control over view.

If you are rejected to spectate, you get response like "Your friend doesn't want you to watch." and you can't press the button for the rest of the game.

I think this feture would come handy, when you want to observe the game but server is too full or you want to learn from better players. And you wouldn't waste free spaces for other players. Plus you could watch closed matches if allowed.

Evey player would also have in his "Gameplay options", an option to allow all friends to spectate him. This would allow all friends to spectate him without need for vote.

Better players would also compete who has more fans watching and cheering

Comments appreciated and please excuse my syntax.

You'll never know what you'll find in the suggestions forum when using the Search Function.

I read article above. And also from other threads on this forum, it's clear that Altitude developers dont't want random spectators to be forwarding information to other players.
I find that a bit funny, because even in real life business information isn't safe, so why try so desperately to make this game impenetrable.
If on some match players suspect one is forwarding information they can still vote to kick him.

About joining on server to spectate. If you want to do that, server must not be full, oherwise you have to wait until there is at least one free space on it.

-.-
Spectators don't take up player slots. Unless you're expecting 12 v 12 games in the Proleagues, I don't think free space is a problem.

Explain pl0x? What do you mean with forwarding information? Telling players positions of other players (over teamspeak for example)? This has hardly any use because altitude is so fast paced, so I can't imagine the devs bringing this up as an issue (nor can I find a trace of them doing so).
You go on with:

This does not clarify anything for me. You're saying that they shouldn't try to make the game impenetrable for hackers? What does this have to do with anything in this topic? Please make a clear point, so we can discuss it.

P.s I am for the idea of special spectator slots (where spectators can't join the game) and for the idea that people can choose to hide spectator chat.

I couldn't agree with you more. I read thread that [Y] posted as reply and there is user "hurripilot" who is worried about players "cheating".
Also in my previous thread here there was talk about cheating.

Don't realy see how you managed to get from spectating to hacking. I was still refering to cheating while spectating, with lets say skype.

My point is clear and written in first post of this topic.

I still don't see any post from the Altitude devs about the forwarding of information and I still don't get the remark to business life business information. (just can't seem to find the link in that one).

All in all the idea is good, except for the player having to accept or reject, this will disrupt his game. Spots exclusively for specators and an option in your friendlist to join a server as a spectator is a good idea imo (if this is possible without generating lag for the other players).

I'd like to see a poll to see how bad the community really wants these features (handy for the devs to know where to place it on their to-do list).

Like:

1. I need this so bad
2. It would be handy
3. Not really needed
4. Leave this in the garbage bin

(This would be handy for ANY suggestions topic btw)
