Titles and Emblems, or Dogtags?

maybe we should follow our favorite fps games like COD or battlefield and have dogtags or title and emblems...what do you guys think?

Would be nice to have more levels to advance. I like the dogtags, seems to me they would go well with Alti.

But how many more is the question. And if the devs would be willing.

I suppose they could overlay the dogtag image with the existing 1-59 level insignias...

Now there is an idea worth exploring... Some extra recognition for high kill ratios, cumulative scored goals, and cumulative base damage. Although the last two aren't exactly tracked within the game, but I could think of quite a few players who would second that idea...

It is a fresh thread... I'd imagine they will stop by to look. I like this idea too. Changing the lvl 1-59 insignia icons most likely wouldn't be that hard, if they're willing...

It will be the addition of the 'special ranks' and 'cumulative score ranks' that will take some real work. I am sure there are a number of players who would like to know who the 'top dog' is...

i didnt think of changing the insignia icons, just add that next to your name to make it so you have a personal dogtag representing yourself to the community.

I was thinking that the insignias wouldn't change, just be surrounded by the dogtag shape...

Personal dogtag... hmmm... That would be nice too. I would sure like to have my little avatar (a radiation symbol, yellow on black) on my plane!

I think I read somewhere that they disabled the avatars here in the forum because of space and inappropriate stuff being used...

The dogtags would have to be regulated somehow to keep people from using offensive BS, or be some pre-approved types that are generally acceptable.

no on the plane, just like when it says you killed someone, it shows their name and their rank...thats where i'd put the dogtag...

this could also be changed by going into the hanger deck...or maybe something else..

I wasn't reprimanding you for suggesting a similar idea haha, I'm just throwing extra stuff in here. I think this is a good idea but would take time to implement with all the art needed. Perhaps the community could submit their designs?

I'd much rather have real features like recording games with co-ord. data, offline messages, replays etc. Such features will make recording games and showing off the game much easier and promote the game with more YouTube videos. I don't see the dog collars doing much but if that's what the community wants, then whatever..

Good ideas, just thats a handful...ik just thought of the idea because everytime you die or kill someone it looks the same, i just thought it would be cool...anyway, nice ideas tek, and i think the whole disabling thing would be an awesome addition to this idea.

So what are you thinking, Blue...? Replacing one of those Ace Badges with something alittle more personable..?

It does seem alittle weird to display two of the same image in the same popup. I would vote for replacing the top one next to the username.

You two, are discussing about a game, which has been practically close to the same for about 4 years now. And are expecting that the developers will implement, which was once a great idea by the companies who worked on CoD, this personalized in-game emblem sort of thingy.

Well, let me tell you. Obviously, this might look like a good idea, but it really isn't unless the game expands a lot more.
There's 5 planes. About 7 game modes and a handful of regular players. To implement such an idea, would be huge, compared to the 'size' of the actual game.

I'm not saying it's a terrible idea, but i'm saying that it wouldn't fit altitude in any way.

Personally I think having Dog Tags wouldn't help player retention at all and it could put people off, as soon as I see something like that, I assume it's some ****ty CoD clone.

What would help player retention and would require very little time to implement are some achievements (even if they are non-steam) that require a long time to get. We wouldn't even need anything for getting them, maybe one single skin if you get 100k kills with that plane as a status symbol.

If this suggestion, which I think is a good one, sees the light of day... I would be glad to chip in with whatever artwork is required. Already have all of the software.

Have a few... Photoshop CS5, Picasa 3.9 & Nero 10 for HD pixel by pixel shaders. Those are just the headliners, I use alot of older software that just sometimes produces better pics & icons than my new stuff..!
