We are currently on Season 4, which runs from Dec-02-2011 to Apr-06-2012.

Season 5 will most likely start on Apr-06-2012 through Aug-03-2012? Not sure on the end date on Season 5.

First weekend of April, August, and December, just as Namlak said. We aim for the Friday during downtime, but popularity of trying to get the last word of the season can push the season back.

If the server didn't need to go down to change we could hold an event and state that the last x games were happening, and at the end of those games the server starts saving games as a new season. Alas, this is currently a future wishful feature that isn't available.
