Default ball_idea - help needed

Hello

I've just made my first altitude map.
100% made in altitude game editor and here comes my question:
How can I apply image/texture to a wall?

I've seen that pro map makers are using photoshop and stuff like that, but was looking for an easier way to make a map (at least for me).

Map is NOT finished, so don't rage that it sucks - It is still to fix.

There isn't really a 'paste texture' command, and at some point you will need to use an image editor.

As always I recommend www.getpaint.net because it's both free and close to Photoshop in functionality (Windows only). If you're a Mac user, GIMP also comes highly recommended.

Or if you somehow have Photoshop, well hey...

Oh, okay.
Then is there any way to save this map arrangement and move it to paint.net or gimp2 ?
Because I don't wanna lose all my work.

When you take a correctly formatted PNG from image software, the editor will detect those walls and does a good job in placing the collision points.

To get what you already have, use: Altitude Map Editor -> Export -> View Screenshot. Make note of where the popup says the image was saved. This is an at scale representation of your map.

As you edit this map, make sure that you have all the outside walls fully colored in. If there is any "air" around the border that touches the outside of the map, the editor will assume your level is a giant rock and not find the walls on the inside. To see what I'm talking about with pictures, see this thread.

To pull your new image back into the editor, use Map -> Import Large PNG. This can also be done for background layers if those View Editor layers are selected when you import.
