Looking for players for a round robin Chess tournament. If we get too many players to make round robin reasonable, I'll use a Knockout Round Robin format instead (shard groups of regular Round Robin with 1 or 2 players moving to the next Round Robin round).

Games to be played on Yahoo games in Lobstar Lagoon (incorrectly spelled as "Lobster" Lagoon) or Chess.com unless both players can agree on another site to play on. For each opponent in your group, you play them two games, once as white and once as black. Play clock is either Yahoo's default 10m clock with 15s gained per move or what both players can agree on.

Wins gain you 1 point. Draws gain you 1/2 point. Highest points in group wins. You need to play at least one opponent a week. If players would like a designated time to play, it would likely be sometime Sunday after SL games. First round of games to start on Feb 18th. Signup ends Feb 17th mid day US. Seeding will be random. If both you and a later round opponent agree to play earlier. As there is likely to be a lack of witnesses to your game, please take a screenshot of the outcome and post it into this thread. Imgur is your friend.

Ability to get on Alti Mumble is a huge plus for organizing with your opponent. I can also see possibility to do a lightning tourney (1m game) at some point via Chess.com.

I'm wondering the same. I used to play a lot seven years ago, but am lucky to play two games a year anymore. I played Apa a few days ago and he pushed for a tournament.

Exact same here, 7 years as well. I might have to play some practice games.

I'll say maybe. Like I said on Mumble, if it was Go I would play in a second. Chess just isn't my game but I will play if you need another to make a decent-sized field.

For RR, I'm cool with anywhere from 4 to 20 players. At around 10 is when we'd have shard RR.
