Default Fusion Co-op

The "Fusion Co-op" server has been online for a few days now and it's proving to be fairly popular so far.

If you've never played co-op, give it a shot. It's a game mode where the only adversary is the environment: turrets and, occasionally, map geometry. The goal of the game is to stay alive, find your way to the enemy base and destroy it with bombs.

If you're a TBD player, one practical outcome of playing co-op is that you get a better feel for how turrets work. You may discover they're much less of threat than you used to think, and you can defeat turrets without taking significant damage.

Sever rules:
- game starts after a warmup period of 10 seconds
- as soon as the first player spawns, the timer starts. When you destroy the base, the game tells you how long it took and whether a new record has been made
- after the game ends, the server automatically changes to the next map. You can override this by calling a vote to restart the current map (/vote restartMap), to change to a different random map (/vote startRandom), or you can suggest a map of your choice (/vote chMap map_name)
- as an experiment, voting is currently allowed at any time during the game. i.e. midmap voting is okay; let's see if my new voting logic can make everyone happy without the need for admin enforcement
- there is no timelimit right now, so you it's possible to finish most maps alone, respawning and changing planes as necessary. This may change in the future.
- DISABLED if you die, you're moved to the enemy team temporarily. You can spawn if you want, but you'll find yourself locked in a small area where all you can do is fly around and bump into walls. Instead, I suggest you watch other players and learn from them. Use the keys z, x, c to change who you're spectating.
- DISABLED when you die, you have to wait 10 or more seconds before you can join the game again (see "Wait times" below for more details). So try to stay alive!

Wait times explained (currently disabled - here only for historical reference):
- the first time you die, you have to wait 10 seconds before you can rejoin player team. Die again and it's 20 seconds, then it's 30 (and stays at 30). So try to stay alive! However, the wait time may be reduced in some cases:
- if there's no one else alive on the player team when you die, your wait time is reset to 10 seconds. So if you're the only person on the server, you never have to wait more than 10 seconds.
- if there is only one other person alive the moment you die, your maximum wait time is limited to 20 seconds. So if it's just two of you playing, you never wait more than 20 seconds.
- if you manage to stay alive for 2 minutes, your maximum wait time goes down to 20 seconds
- if you manage to stay alive for 4 minutes, your maximum wait time is 10 seconds again

Voting
The following votes are available:
/vote startRandom - let the server load a random map
/vote chMap map_name - go to a specific map
/vote restartMap - restart current map (e.g. if you want to set a record)

The changeMap command is no longer available, use chMap instead. It works the same except for the addition of vetoes, described below.

Every player who has been playing since the start of the match, never died and never changed to spectator, has the power of veto on any of the three votes listed above. All you have to do is press 2 when a vote is called, and the vote will fail even if the majority of the players vote Yes.

You can see who has veto power right now with the /who command. Players with veto power will be marked with an asterisk (*). Vetoing does not work during the first minute of the game and after the game ends.

I'm going on holiday tomorrow, 1 June, and I'm taking the laptop that is the server with me. So the server will be shut down.

But hopefully sukosevato & Cracker will have their Co-op server running soon.

I'm coming back on 23 June. But I'm not sure I'll be hosting the server again, so you're welcome to start your own. I can help you set everything up.
