End of Beta Season 1 - May 26

Although there is a lot of work for ahead for me before the next season can start I want to finally set an end date for the current "season". Ladder will be online through the end of May 26th. If ladder is active at midnight EST May 27 it will be left online until it dies. The highest ranked players (likely top 10, will confirm later) will be recognized on AltitudeRank.com, but do not count on final ladder ratings being displayed otherwise. Next season will be the final beta season of ladder and no guarantee stats will be saved from this either. Post beta season rankings for each following season (not the upcoming season) will be permanently displayed on the website.

I think it is extremely unlikely I will have the new ladder ready by then, so expect between 1 to 2 weeks of no ladder. My coding productivity will be much higher with ladder down though. There will be servers running for league/scrims while ladder is offline.

This is a little confusing to read; is the upcoming final beta season considered as post beta? Just to clear things out as for the permanent display of rankings.

No 'post beta' = seasons after beta ends. If there is much demand for it I may migrate the data to a different table in the database and display it somewhere on the website. But personally I don't really care about beta ratings/stats. Stats are definitely not going to ever be displayed on the website for the current season and will be wiped from the database at end of season.

If stats are accurate enough during the next beta season and nothing changes too much in the rating system, its possible that I may decide to keep stats, etc from next season. But as of now I don't plan to keep stats for any beta season due to potential major changes to database, possibly less than fully accurate stats during beta, etc.

Next season is mostly to evaluate new features including a completely new ranking system. I want to work out any major issues while in beta.

just curious, what part of the process of running ladder slows down your coding? is there background maintenance you have to do or is it mostly menial administrative tasks?

75% handling admin issues, sometimes sitting in the server to make sure things are running smoothly, and getting bugged by people to play when they need 1 or want to complain about other players
