Can't run the game anymore after Steam update

The game looks like it's crashing soon after logging into the master server (before displaying any menus).

I tried everything including wiping everything under ".steam" and reinstalling altitude from Steam, still the same result. Steam keeps thinking somehow the cache/game is corrupt...

It could be a steam bug in the end, but if there are any log files you want me to post here, let me know.

I fixed it by disabling steam game overlay.

ERROR: ld.so: object '/home/yeah/.local/share/Steam/ubuntu12_32/gameoverlayrenderer.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded (wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS32): ignored.

tisk-tisk, looks like it's trying to mix 32-bit and 64-bit libraries for some reason. Oh, well.

Thanks Tek, I was running into the same problem after I finally updated Steam. Couldn't figure it out but you nailed it.
