Default Why Did Nimbly Games Take Such A Step?

Why Did Nimbly Games Make Altitude Free For Everyone?

They Have Also Removed The Community Points..
Does This Mean The Money Of All Those Who Bought For Some Dollars Will Be Refunded?

And We Can't Even Change The Widescreen To Normal...!

There Is a Also Some Rumour That This Step Has Been Taken Because Nimbly Games Is Gonna Stop Altitude...Is It So?

How Many Of U Like This Update?

Community points earned prior to the patch have not been removed and can still be spent on skins just as before. The disabled notice is to warn people that you can no longer earn new community points (the primary method of earning points used to involve purchasing copies of the game, and the game is now free).

Do you and Karl plan on making the skins available for the new players in some sort of new strategy? Say adding more and harder in-game achievements and putting the skins as rewards?

I think You could implement implementation a new method to get the skins / Community points, as an incentive, more achievements or challenges for get it, would be much more fun, taking advantage of so many new users now.

Honestly skins as DLC might be a good idea.

Something like 1 skin for $1 or choice of 3 for $2.

I'd definitely spend $2 or $4 for some skins. Not earning them as was the case before, but at least you're making a little bit of money and skins are still available to players.

Certainly skins and similar features are ideal for paid DLC. Given the decision to discontinue CP, I have to imagine they felt they would not get a return on whatever time investment it would require to get DLC functionality added. This would probably take even more effort since the game is available on both Steam and direct from Nimbly.

Player base may be too small to bother. I'm sure they would consider it if somehow going free was to result in a huge increase of players.

I doubt newer players will know what ladder is or have a desire to play it until they feel comfortable/skilled enough to ask about it.

Default Update

I don't understand why everyone is so upset about this new update. I thought we wanted to revive altitude and they have done that job. I counted around 100 people yesterday and that hasn't happened for years. It will just take some time adjusting the new path altitude has taken. I think I'm happy that the devs are actually doing something to keep this game going, I thought i would never see a new update.

Pretty sure we would've seen a similar influx of new players were the game just made free instead of adding widescreen support too. Maybe a little less so, but still enough to 'revive.' There's no going back now, though, the damage is done.

Could Somebody Explain Why Everybody Here is Using This Style Of Punctuation? Is It Supposed To Be Classier Or Something? Because It's Not xD

Anyway, it's interesting to see this game in metamorphose. I'm not sure how I feel about widescreen; it's fun to have all that screen space, but I worry it will have effects on competitive play. As for the move to full f2p, it's a) sad to see altitude having to stoop to these levels to get players but b) anything that can get new players to this game is great. Altitude is a great game.

Count me in for the new altitude comeback =P
