Oct. 4 Ball Draft Event Announcement & Capt. Registration

One Day Draft Round-Robin Ball Tourney
Oct. 5
2 PM CST / 3 PM EDT / 7 PM GMT / 7 PM UTC / 12 PM PDT

Draft Rules:

- Standard 6 v. 6 Ball except for the following condition:

Each player must be played at least 2 goals each game to allow all participants playing time.

- All players who enter the server during the scheduled time are eligible to play. Players who enter later than the scheduled time are ineligible to be drafted to avoid unfair late drafts. Team sizes and number of teams will be determined by the number of players but ideally we'll have at least 4-6 teams of 8 players. I'm leaning towards a snake draft format but will listen to any ideas.

- Each player must be played at least 2 goals each game to allow all participants playing time.

-Captains will be decided by myself and 1-2 tournament organizers to be determined later. Those who wish to be captain should post here to voice their desire. Preference will be given to those who show good sportsmanship (a.k.a won't refuse to play players based on skill level or personal disagreements) and have at least some tournament experience.

-Captains have 30 seconds to choose a player. They will be given a time warning when 10 seconds are left. If after 30 seconds they have not selected an eligible player one will be chosen for them based on the next available player listed alphabetically.


The goal of the tournament is to fill in the gap in competitive play before the next Sky League. I will likely not be participating, only organizing to try to allow it to run smoothly.

Good, we have a few volunteers so far. I'll keep you guys informed and let you know the week of the event what the plan is.

You should have made the poll public so you could account specifically who's willing to play and who's not.

Bah, didn't think of that, would've been a good idea. Still, I'm more concerned with the number of players as opposed to who they are.

I'll be there one way or another prepared to run it. If there's enough to play we play. If not, that's unfortunate but it was worth a try. Not going to make a big deal of it. I just wanted to give the community a chance to have an event to fill the long gap before the next Sky League.

It is too late now probably, but perhaps an event would be more successful if it was a one day clan tournament. I think turnout would be higher if it was a clan based event.

If enough show anyone without clans could participate by making a team. Some of the extras might temporarily play with a clan during the event as a tryout.

We have over 3 months until DN is planning to start next SL, maybe we could have like one Sunday per month set for a mini clan tournament?

Almost organize? I have everything prepared for it, it's up to others to attend if they wish. I appreciate the hint of sarcasm in that when nobody else was stepping up to run anything.

It would be nice to get things like this announced in the news that pops up when you start Altitude. Wonder if lamster & Karl would consider letting us put league and event news there. It seems like too few people actually visit the forums.

I guess I could also put an announcement in ladder.

I actually hadn't seen this thread up to now, even though I've played Alti several times since the OP. I believe forums NEED announcements directly from the game.
