I don't like Google Chrome autoupdater...
How do you downgrade Google Chrome to newest stable version 40? Right now chrome is acting weird and things, for example when I click the chrome button on the taskbar thingy it opens up a new "window" thing, so I end up with 2 chrome buttons... Among other problems.
Is there a easy way to downgrade Google Chrome? |

If you just want rid of the autoupdater, you could use chromium (the open source browser on which chrome is based), which doesn't update automatically. I'm not sure the integration with Google's services is as strong, but if you don't mind this, it's otherwise functionally identical.

If you simply don't want it to update, do the following.
1. Open the Start Menu and search for "regedit". This is the Registry Editor for your system. You can also hold the windows button + R, and type "regedit". 2. Under Computer, go to the following path: Code:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Update I'm not sure you can downgrade your browser but this will definitely prevent Chrome from updating in the future. |
