ball_football servers

I'm not one to complain or anything but going though the server listed I counted a total of 23 ball_football only servers, some of which have never had a full game played on them.

Really 23 ball_football servers? On top of that there is literally nothing different or new provided by them. Lets assume each server holds 14 people (some hold more) which makes for 322 slots!

Why would I go play on anything other then Ledows if I wished to play football? It's well known and that's where people go when they do play football.

How do the hosters expect people to come and play in their servers if they offer nothing new or unique to the already well known servers? You need to provide something different and give me/everyone a reason to join your server vs. the servers we already know.

In short the total amount of football servers is beyond crazy at this point unless people are gearing up for a free weekend or such.

Some things to consider is location of the server.

For example, I get better pings (<50) on F-117 than I do on any of Ledow's (120-150).

Choc's and Amara's servers, as said above, also offer more interesting combinations. Top goals, walls and turrets, rainbow colors, etc.


So I think there needs to be a selection to choose from to consider pings of players, but yeah it's a bit much.

But at the end of the day, does it matter? You're going to play on the server you want and they're the ones paying the hosting fees; it's not up for the community to decide whether that person/group should invest in a server or not. We just play on the servers we enjoy best.

Whilst what you say is true, there are a lot of empty servers of almost every type. Apart from the elusive 5 vs 5 TBD servers.

I am in the same boat... I average 45 ping on F-117 and am never below 100 on Ledows. Choc's and Amara's are low ping for me too. I am glad there are several to choose from.

I see no reason to complain about the number of available football servers, as the person hosting (& paying the bills) should get to decide what kind of server they wish to have and pay for.
