FUTBOL Tracker - 6v6 - ball_football

As some of you may remember, TwistedDuck and I were working on a football 'ladder'. Sadly both of us became disillusioned with Altitude and the project was abandoned. I am resurrecting it for the moment, and if it proves popular, I will try and finish it.

FUTBOL Tracker

Football has a bad reputation for two main reasons 1) New players start here as there aren't any walls to crash into and 2) jerks who play football only for the kills while ignoring the ball. With the FUTBOL tracker, we will change this.

Football is fundamentally a different beast than plain old regular ball. So if you like fast-paced, exciting games where clever passing and bravery are rewarded, then FUTBOL tracker is for you.

A few points for now

• A ranked football server analogous to the ball ladder
• 6v6 randomized teams play 1 game, first to score 6 goals
• Ranking is done via the TrueSkill algorithm
• We track basically any stat you can think of, but no access to them at the moment
• Once there are at least 12 players active, type /match start to play
• Type /rules to read the rules
• The game code is more or less done, just missing a nice website

What I need now is to recruit enthusiastic people to test out the server and possibly become admins in the future.

Love the idea. But you will still have the us and them - u cant change the player or the hater.

+1 to this idea. Rank system, which is in football server, will it be the same as in sandbox servers?

The ranking system in the sandbox is basically the ELO algorithm whereas here I used the trueskill algorithm which is similar to ELO but hopefully better.

Some of the in-game commands are the same as in the sandbox, such as \rank, but this would be temporary until the website is done.
