Please try reinstalling Altitude:

1) Right click Altitude -> Delete Local Content
2) Exit Steam
3) Restart Steam
4) Reinstall Altitude

That exclamation mark you have in the Steam folder name seems to be causing trouble. I don't know if this is an Altitude problem or Java or what that is getting thrown off by the folder name? It is not uncommon for symbols to cause problems in software though so best to avoid symbols in things like folder names.

Unless Karl or lamster can confirm it is a bug in Altitude that can be patched quickly, my recommendation would be to follow this guide: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_...7418-YUBN-8129 and move steam to a directory that does not have a symbol in the name.

If you have a small Steam library and it would not be a big inconvenience to uninstall and reinstall Steam, you could do that instead. You just need to be sure you get any game saves backed up first.

A final option would be if you happen to have multiple partitions on your laptop (such as a D: drive), you can reinstall Altitude using the steps lamster posted but use the Choose location to install option when you try to reinstall Altitude.

ank you however i assure you it has nothing to do with the file. The information i sent via my original post didnt include anything that i observed to be faulty with the name of the folder.I have heard altitude and windows 7 arent best friends, but surely this must be a bug.

VAN1SH1NG is correct, because of a bug with Java, Altitude cannot work with any files where there is an exclamation mark in the path.

You must place Altitude in a directory where the full path to that directory does not contain a ! (exclamation mark)
