Faster Than Light
So we need faster than light technology before any actual space travel is possible. This much is clear.
Now assume you're a quantum mechanics genius and you've just discovered a faster than light concept that allows for faster than light technology. Do you actually ever try it out? You would be putting yourself in massive danger in a realm totally unknown to man. You would have no actual way to know if you could even stop. I don't think I would do it.
